Halloween

So we had our first Halloween this past weekend, pumpkin carving, family, friends, candy, but no trick-or-treaters! I did find a great belt for my sister Jennifer, check out the video below. The belt has a flat head, philips head and bottle opener on it! It should come in handy at the tailgates. We also took a trip out to Santa Fe, NM for our friends Andy and Jean (now Stewart)'s wedding. They were married in the Loretta Chapel, which is a very beautiful church, and houses the miraculous staircase! While in Santa Fe we participated in a group run Saturday Morning. We ran from our hotel and meet up with everybody about 1.6 miles away. We then took off to run a 5 mile run with the group. 7.5 miles later we started our run home from the meeting spot. It was a very tough run at 7,000 feet of elevation over a very hilly run. It is a local runners staple and proved to be a real eye-bulging leg burner! The next couple of weeks will be base training for the Austin Half Marathon. Turkey

Congrats to Our Friend Melissa

Our friend Melissa Henderson just took another step towards her goal of running in the marathon in the 2008 Olympics in Beijing for Belize. She just completed a very hot marathon at the 2007 World Championships in Osaka! You can catch a glimse of her running here . Way to go! I think she may even make an appearance at the Wedding Day Run! Wedding note, 10 days and counting. Lets see, still quite a bit of stuff to get done, Marriage License, Programs, Music, Rest...

My Muddy Buddy Career

It has started and ended. I think I may make a come back. I have a couple of friends who are racing every Muddy Buddy Race, The Bionic Thongs. One of them was injured in Austin, and so they invited me to fill in for her for the San Jose and Atlanta Race. I first must say thank you Thongs for bringing me along, it was a blast! You can read more about the races and adventures here on their blog . I recommend that everybody does a Muddy Buddy at some point, it is so much fun! Good Luck in Richmond Thongs! I am going to take a week off from training and then begin to focus on Triathlons again. I took the first part of this year to train for the 1 mile, and got a new PR in the 1500 and got my mile under 5 minutes, something I have not done since high school. My next triathlon will be Try Andy's Tri in October. I have traveled out of town for the past 3 weekends, so I am looking forward to the next couple of weeks here at home.
